Panchkula, July 31
In a major anti-corruption operation, the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Sub-Inspector (SI) Desh Raj, posted at the Sector 21 Police Chowki in Panchkula, while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹5,000. The arrest was made during a trap operation conducted by the ACB after receiving a complaint against the police officer.
According to officials, SI Desh Raj had allegedly demanded the bribe in exchange for releasing a car. Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the cash. During the operation, the ACB recovered ₹5,000 in cash from the arrested police officer. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
