The Panchkula police have stepped up traffic management and security arrangements in Sector 7 market ahead of Karwa Chauth and other festive occasions, with special measures in place to prevent congestion and ensure convenience for shoppers.

Sector 7 is among the city’s busiest markets, and the festive rush has added to the need for traffic regulation. With stalls set up for Karwa Chauth and other festive items, shoppers are visiting the market for purchases and preparations. To manage vehicle movement, Sector 7 police station in-charge Ankit and his team inspected the market, diverted traffic and conducted security checks.

Ankit said the arrangements were being made on the directions of the Police Commissioner to maintain order and ensure smooth traffic movement in sectors falling under the jurisdiction of the Sector 7 police station. The team is keeping a check on the market area to reduce the possibility of traffic jams and minimise inconvenience to shoppers and commuters during the festive period.

The police are also taking action against traffic violations, with online challans are being issued to motorists who fail to follow traffic rules. Visitors have been urged to park their vehicles only at designated places and avoid obstructing roads, particularly in busy stretches of the Sector 7 market.

The police said cooperation from motorists and shoppers was important for managing the festive rush. Following parking rules and complying with traffic diversions can help prevent bottlenecks and allow people to move through the market more easily.

Ankit appealed to residents and visitors to follow instructions issued by police personnel and cooperate with the arrangements. The measures are aimed at maintaining security, regulating traffic and ensuring that festive shopping in Sector 7 takes place without unnecessary disruption.
