Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday said Haryana has recorded significant progress in the healthcare sector and has been allotted two AIIMS institutions under the Central government’s initiative to establish 23 AIIMS across the country. He said the Center continues to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, focusing on improving access to quality medical services.
Addressing a function organized by the Indian Medical Association in Ambala City, Nadda said nearly 1.85 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been established across the country to provide primary healthcare services. He added that 11 vaccines are now administered from birth through age 16, and that vaccination coverage has reached nearly 98 percent. He also said around 42 crore people have undergone health screening under various government programs since 2017 for conditions including diabetes, mental health issues, breast and oral cancer, dental care and other illnesses.
Nadda urged doctors to share their achievements with the public and stressed the need to expand telemedicine and promote Ayurvedic healthcare to improve nationwide access to quality treatment.

Saini said healthcare infrastructure in Haryana has expanded considerably over the past 12 years. He said 17 medical colleges have been established during this period while several more are under construction. The government, he added, aims to establish a medical college in every district.
