CCTV footage captures the attack as residents demand immediate action against dangerous stray cattle roaming freely in residential areas.
Panchkula, August 25
An elderly woman was seriously injured after a stray bull attacked her in Vishwakarma Colony, Ward Number 11, under the Kalka-Pinjore Municipal Council area. The incident was captured on CCTV, highlighting concerns about dangerous stray cattle in residential areas.
The woman, identified as Prakasho Devi, had stepped out of her house to attend to some work in the street when the stray bull suddenly charged at her. The animal lifted her up with its horns, threw her into the air and then slammed her onto the ground.
The sudden attack left the elderly woman with multiple injuries. She suffered a fracture in her right arm after falling to the ground, while other parts of her body also sustained injuries.
Despite being injured, Prakasho Devi managed to gather the strength to return home. As her condition worsened, her family members took her to the hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula, where a medical examination confirmed the fracture in her arm. She is currently undergoing treatment.
CCTV footage captured the entire incident. The video shows the bull suddenly attacking the elderly woman and throwing her to the ground.
Prakasho Devi’s granddaughter, Nisha, said her grandmother had gone outside for some work when the stray bull suddenly attacked her. She said the animal lifted her grandmother with its horns and threw her down, resulting in the fracture and other injuries.
Local residents have demanded that stray and aggressive bulls be removed from residential areas and shifted to safe gaushalas or designated locations. They said immediate steps were needed to prevent further such incidents and protect the residents.
The CCTV footage has once again raised questions over the stray cattle problem in Pinjore and the measures being taken to control it.
