Panchkula, September 2

A massive fire broke out at a factory in the Alipur Industrial Area of Barwala, Panchkula, triggering a major emergency response. Several fire brigade vehicles and police teams have reached the spot, while efforts are underway to bring the blaze under control.

According to preliminary information, the factory is reportedly ICL (India Circuit Private Limited), where computer chips are manufactured. A chemical explosion is also reported to have occurred at Plot Nos. 1 and 2 of the company.

Following the incident, the factory premises were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Firefighters are continuing their efforts to douse the flames, but the fire has not yet been brought under control. SDM Mannat Rana, who reached the spot, said around 90 per cent of the fire had been brought under control. She said the blaze was in its final stage and was expected to be completely extinguished soon.

According to the SDM, no loss of life or injuries have been reported so far. The extent of damage inside the factory will be assessed only after the fire has been completely extinguished.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown and is expected to be determined during the investigation. Further details regarding casualties or damage are awaited. Further details regarding the extent of damage will be known after the firefighting operation is completed.
