Nature’s vast beauty often brings a sense of wonder and joy, particularly for children who find themselves deeply connected to the natural world. The innocence of youth allows them to see nature as an extension of themselves, with birds symbolizing freedom and love. Despite the difficulty in catching birds, children are drawn to chase them, their melodious chirping sparking joy and creativity.

Actress Dia Mirza recently took time to share the magic of nature with her son, Avyaan Azaad Rekhi, by observing a flamboyance of flamingos migrating to Airoli, Mumbai. Sharing the moment on her Instagram stories, Mirza expressed the deep joy she felt in introducing her child to the wild, reflecting on her own experiences taking children into nature over the years.

In her post on X (formerly Twitter), she highlighted the contrast between nature’s beauty and the surrounding urban pollution. “The flamingos used to arrive at the mangrove forest shorelines of Mumbai in September. Now they arrive in November. There is a magic to witness here all the way till February/March… The contrast of nature in all her pink resplendence and the urban scapes covered in pollution behind her. Man pollutes, nature provides,” Mirza wrote. She also praised the efforts of the Mangrove Foundation for making the experience accessible, and acknowledged Shahid Bamne, known as “Flamingo Uncle,” for making the visit memorable.
