Did information allegedly held by Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager about drug trafficking, child abuse and other unlawful activities involving Aditya Thackeray and others lead to her murder?

The question is raised in a complaint filed by her father, who alleges that she possessed sensitive information and was planning to make it public. Acting on the complaint, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR and is investigating the allegations.

The manager, identified as DS in the CBI FIR, was working with actor Sushant Singh Rajput when, according to her father, she came across information relating to alleged drug trafficking, child abuse and other unlawful activities.

The complaint alleges that DS shared the information with Rajput and intended to disclose it at a press conference. At the time, Thackeray was a minister in the Maharashtra government, headed by his father, Uddhav Thackeray.

The complaint names several individuals in connection with its allegations, including Aditya Thackeray, Rohan Roy, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Sachin Waze, Param Bir Singh, Uddhav Thackeray, Anil Deshmukh and police officers.

Her father alleges that the proposed disclosure led to a conspiracy to silence her. The complaint also refers to allegations of rape, murder, destruction of evidence and the fabrication of official records.

According to the FIR, DS told Rajput about the information while Rajput allegedly discussed it with Rhea Chakraborty. The complaint further alleges that Chakraborty was in contact with Thackeray and Dino Morea and informed them about the proposed disclosure.

The father alleges that Chakraborty left Rajput and blocked his phone number on the day DS was allegedly killed. He also quotes Rajput as saying “Now those people will not spare me.”

The complaint questions the circumstances in which DS allegedly died after falling from a building in Mumbai in June 2020. It challenges the account that she had been staying in her flat between 4 and 9 June. The complaint refers to earlier statements that DS spoke to Ankita Satur between 12.06am and 1.16am, appeared upset and then locked herself in a room before allegedly jumping from the building at around 1.20am.

However, the complaint alleges that CCTV footage showed DS entering and going towards Flat 1101 at about 8.15pm. It also refers to footage allegedly showing Rohan Roy, Preeti Rane, security guard Shivmurad Gautam and police personnel using a lift to reach Flat 1202 at around 12.55am.

The complaint raises questions about DS’s exact location, the hospital records, the clothes she was wearing, photographs of the scene and the post-mortem examination. It also questions how far the body landed from the building and alleges that the reconstruction of the incident was not properly recorded or made available.

The father further alleges that important records, videos and other material were either withheld, altered or destroyed.

The complaint alleges that police took DS’s mobile phone at around 9.40am on 9 June, but that the phone remained active afterwards.

It refers to conflicting explanations about the phone’s custody and alleges that seizure records were suppressed, destroyed or replaced. The complaint further alleges that the phone was later possessed or operated by former police officer Sachin Waze and Thackeray and was used to identify DS’s contacts.

The father alleges that witnesses were threatened or pressured and that digital data was deleted or tampered with. He also alleges that CCTV footage was erased by a cyber expert and that evidence relating to the case was deliberately weakened.

It alleges the destruction of official records, fabrication of documents and misuse of police and public resources.

Thackeray has denied the allegations and described them as false and fabricated. He has said that he had no connection with the case and questioned why he should respond to what he called politically motivated accusations.
