Himachal to light ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ on Sept 17
Shimla, September 16
Himachal Bharatiya Janata Party president Dr Rajeev Bindal on Wednesday said the party would organise a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ across the state from September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and highlight his 25 years in public life.
Bindal said the party will organise blood donation camps across Himachal Pradesh on September 17, and appeal to people to light an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ at home in the evening and pray for PM Modi’s good health and long life.
He said PM Modi’s 25 years in public life as Chief Minister and Prime Minister have been dedicated to service, national interest, welfare of people experiencing poverty and development. According to Bindal, this period has also brought a new political and administrative work culture in the country.
The BJP leader said the campaign will include various social and service-oriented programmes over the month. Party workers will take the Modi government’s initiatives related to welfare, women’s empowerment, youth, farmers, infrastructure and economic development to the people.
Highlighting Himachal Pradesh, Bindal said the state has received major infrastructure, health, education and connectivity projects during the Modi government’s tenure. He cited four-lane highways, tunnels, bridges and roads constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
He also mentioned AIIMS Bilaspur and IIM Sirmaur as major institutions established in the state, saying investments in road, health and education infrastructure will contribute to Himachal’s development in the coming years.
Bindal further said the September 17 programme was not limited to celebrating the Prime Minister’s birthday but was intended to strengthen social service as an organisational activity. He urged people across Himachal Pradesh to participate in the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative.
He also extended advance birthday greetings to Prime Minister Modi and wished him good health and a long life.
