Pinjore, May 23
Panic gripped residents of Vasudevpura in Pinjore after a sudden fire broke out in the forest area behind Gokul Welfare Society on Friday. Locals noticed flames rising from the jungle near their homes, and within minutes the fire spread rapidly across the area.
Residents immediately informed the police through the emergency helpline 112 and alerted the fire department. Acting swiftly, the ERV 526 team, along with Pinjore Police Station SHO Bachhu Singh, reached the spot to assess the situation and assist in rescue operations.
Fire station personnel, including LFM Tarsem and fire operators Gurcharan Singh and Chand Singh, launched a firefighting operation and brought the blaze under control after intense efforts. Officials said timely action prevented a potentially major disaster, as a residential colony is situated adjacent to the forest area.
Fortunately, no casualties or property damage were reported in the incident. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, and further investigation is underway.
