Panchkula, May 18

The Indian National Lok Dal staged a protest in Panchkula on Monday against the Haryana Public Service Commission, alleging discrimination against Haryana youth in government recruitment.

Heavy police deployment was made near the HPSC office, and barricades were placed on roads leading to the commission premises to prevent protesters from moving further. INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala submitted a memorandum addressed to the Haryana Governor through the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula. During the protest, Chautala alleged that candidates from outside Haryana were being given preference in Group B recruitments, while local youth were being ignored.

He claimed that Haryana youth were being limited to lower-level posts, while gazetted positions were allegedly being filled by people linked to outside organizations. Chautala said the party would continue raising its voice against what it described as injustice towards the state’s youth.
