Chandigarh, April 22
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday paid tribute to those killed in the Pahalgam terror attack and expressed condolences to the bereaved families, while reiterating that the country will not bow down before terrorism and will not allow terrorist designs to succeed.
In a post on the social media platform X, Saini said the nation would always remember the tragic incident in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. He conveyed deep condolences to the families of the victims and said they were enduring an irreparable loss. He further stated that citizens stand united in grief and resolve and added that a “New India” will not bow before any form of terror and will ensure that such designs are defeated.
The Pahalgam terror attack claimed 26 lives, including Navy officer Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who hailed from Karnal in Haryana. Following the attack, India carried out a retaliatory military operation named Operation Sindoor, during which security forces targeted and destroyed terror and military infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The statement by the Chief Minister comes as the country marks the anniversary of the attack, with renewed calls for unity and a continued stance against terrorism.
