Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life will inspire new generations to serve the nation, as the BJP outlined a month-long Service Sankalp campaign across the state.

Addressing a government organisation coordination meeting at the BJP state headquarters- Panchkamal, Saini said Modi has worked to bring people at the last rung of society into the mainstream through his focus on service, dedication and sacrifice.

He said the campaign, beginning on September 17, will seek to connect the government, organisation and society through public participation and strengthen the spirit of welfare and service. The Chief Minister said the campaign would be taken to households across Haryana through 12 programmes.

BJP State President Dr Archana Gupta said party workers were preparing to increase public participation in the campaign. She said 20 lakh diyas will be lit across Haryana on September 17, with plans for 50,000 to one lakh diyas at some historic locations.

Gupta said a series of blood donation camps will begin in Kurukshetra on September 17 and subsequently be held across the BJP’s 27 organisational districts. Other programmes include painting and speech competitions in schools and events at Anganwadi centres where Anganwadi workers, helpers, ASHA workers and ANMs will be honoured.

She said a journey under the Vadnagar-to-Varanasi programme will pass through Nuh, Mahendragarh and Rewari, including an overnight stay. Seva Jyoti Kalash yatras will also be organised on October 7 from mandal to assembly and district levels.

A proposed Jansevak Mahakumbh at Surajkund would bring together elected representatives from seven states, including sarpanches, panchayat committee members and urban local body representatives.

BJP National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Bhatia said the campaign aimed to take Modi’s 25 years of service and commitment to national interest straight to the people.
