Vinay Kumar directs officials to remove waste, improve sanitation and coordinate with departments to curb improper dumping
Panchkula, September 18
Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Vinay Kumar conducted a surprise bicycle inspection of Sector 5 on Thursday to review sanitation arrangements and directed officials to take immediate corrective measures at locations where cleanliness was found wanting.
During the inspection, Kumar visited various parts of the sector and assessed sanitation arrangements on the ground. He directed sanitation workers to reach identified spots and take necessary action without delay.
A garbage vulnerable point was found outside Indradhanush Auditorium, where waste generated during programmes at the venue was reportedly being dumped outside the premises. Kumar directed officials to take up the matter with the department concerned and ensure that waste was not allowed to accumulate there.
The inspection also found instances of waste being dumped at designated locations by agencies and departments, including the police and the Irrigation Department.
Kumar directed the competent authorities to write to the departments concerned, apprise them of the civic body’s concerns and seek necessary action to prevent improper disposal of waste.
The inspection was aimed at ensuring prompt action on sanitation-related complaints and improving coordination among departments and agencies.
The Commissioner said the exercise was part of efforts to strengthen sanitation arrangements and maintain cleanliness across Panchkula.
