Campaign to run from September 17 to October 17 with public outreach programmes

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday announced that the state will organise the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 to highlight Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public life and his work in office.

Addressing a press conference in Panchkula, Saini said various programmes would be organised during the campaign to take the Prime Minister’s message of service, good governance and development to the people.

He said that India’s standing in the world had changed and referred to the Centre’s measures against terrorism and Naxalism. Saini cited surgical strikes, air strikes and Operation Sindoor while asserting that India had sent a clear message against terrorism.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the construction of the Ram temple and the Kartarpur Corridor as major achievements of the Centre. He said areas earlier affected by Naxalism had moved towards peace and development.

Chief Minister Saini said that India had progressed in missile manufacturing and the space sector, adding that around 25 crore people had been brought out of poverty under the Prime Minister’s leadership. He also mentioned the construction of 12 crore toilets and various welfare schemes for the poor.

On Haryana, Saini said Modi had visited the state 18 times as Prime Minister and that projects worth around Rs 86,000 crore had been provided to the state by the Centre. He also said Haryana had received more than Rs 7 lakh crore through central schemes. The Chief Minister mentioned projects including AIIMS, the Delhi-Katra Expressway, the Gurugram-Mumbai and Gurugram-Jaipur expressways, and a proposed hydrogen train between Jind and Sonipat.

Saini said people would light an ‘Ashirwad ka Deep’ on September 17. Special service journeys would also run from Vadnagar to Varanasi and back, departing from 10 locations in 10 states and reaching villages and other areas for public interaction.

He also criticised the opposition and said it should introspect. Responding to a question on a suicide case in Punjab, Saini said continued harassment and lack of hope for justice could be deeply painful.
