Patna, April 16

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday said he draws inspiration from Guru Gobind Singh and will work towards ensuring prosperity for the state and the nation, while continuing development efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Choudhary made the remarks during his visit to Patna Sahib Gurudwara, associated with the 10th Sikh Guru, where he offered prayers. “I am greatly inspired by Guru Gobind Singh ji. I pray that his blessings remain with the people of Bihar, and that the state, along with the nation, progresses on the path of prosperity,” he said.

The BJP leader, who was sworn in as the 24th Chief Minister of Bihar on Wednesday, said he would take forward the development work carried out over the years under former chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Earlier in the day, Choudhary held a meeting with his deputies, Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, and senior officials at the chief minister’s secretariat to review administrative matters.

According to an official statement, the chief minister is also scheduled to visit Jayaprakash Narayan’s residence at the Bihar Charkha Samiti later in the day.

The visit and meetings come as the newly sworn-in chief minister begins outlining his priorities and governance approach for the state.
