The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), in collaboration with Invest Punjab, held a Renewable Power Providers Meet in Chandigarh to attract major renewable energy developers for the state’s upcoming solar and green power projects. The event, aimed at expanding Punjab’s renewable energy capacity, was inaugurated by Sanjeev Arora, Minister for Power, Industries & Commerce, and Investment Promotion. Around 30 leading companies from India’s renewable energy sector participated, representing developers, investors, and energy solution providers.

Senior officials from PSPCL, Invest Punjab, and the state government presented Punjab’s renewable energy policies and outlined future opportunities for investment through transparent and competitive bidding. The meet also provided a platform for developers to share feedback and discuss ways to simplify the business environment in the sector.

During the session, PSPCL unveiled its upcoming bidding roadmap for renewable projects, highlighting initiatives to help Punjab meet its Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) targets and strengthen energy security. Developers raised concerns about the imposition of ceiling tariffs and delays caused by lengthy transmission line surveys. Responding to these, Minister Arora assured that future tenders would not include ceiling tariffs and that developers would be allowed to conduct their own surveys for timely project execution.

“Punjab is committed to creating an investor-friendly ecosystem for renewable energy,” Arora said. “We are fully focused on expanding clean and low-cost green power while ensuring reliable supply to consumers.”

Ajoy Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary (Power) and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of PSPCL, reiterated the corporation’s commitment to transparency and efficiency in renewable energy procurement. He emphasized collaboration between PSPCL and private developers to accelerate Punjab’s shift toward sustainable power.

The event was also attended by Er. Harjeet Singh (Director, Generation, PSPCL), Er. Sanjeev Sood (Director, Technical, PSTCL), and Er. Inderjeet Singh (Chief Engineer, NRSE & Thermal Design, PSPCL), along with other senior officials.

Both PSPCL and the Punjab Government reaffirmed their shared vision to strengthen the state’s renewable energy ecosystem — fostering investment, innovation, and green growth while contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
