Mumbai, June 10
Renewable energy company Suzlon Group has announced an ambitious long-term growth strategy under its new vision, “Suzlon 2.0,” outlining plans to transform itself from a wind turbine manufacturer into a fully integrated renewable energy solutions provider. The company aims to significantly expand its renewable energy business by FY31 through investments in technology, project development, energy storage, and asset management services.
Suzlon said it plans to increase annual renewable energy sales fourfold to 10 GW by FY31, expand its order book to 15 GW, and grow its assets under management to 70 GW. The company’s new business framework will focus on four core segments including renewable energy technology solutions, renewable energy development, project execution, and asset management services.
As part of the strategy, Suzlon will offer integrated renewable energy solutions covering wind, solar, battery energy storage systems, and energy management services. The company said the model aims to simplify renewable energy deployment by providing customers with a single platform for multiple clean energy technologies.
Wind energy will continue to remain Suzlon’s primary growth driver. The company intends to maintain a strong position in India’s wind sector while expanding its international footprint through export orders. Suzlon also plans to introduce next-generation wind turbine platforms and broaden its technology portfolio to meet future energy demands.
The company announced plans to enter the battery energy storage segment and establish a dedicated manufacturing facility by 2027. The facility is expected to develop storage solutions designed to address grid reliability and renewable energy integration challenges in India.
Suzlon said its renewable energy development platform will focus on accelerating project readiness by addressing key challenges, including land acquisition, grid connectivity, approvals, and execution. The company also plans to strengthen its engineering, procurement, and construction capabilities for integrated renewable energy projects.
Speaking on the announcement, Suzlon Group Vice Chairman Girish Tanti said the company is positioning itself to support the growing global demand for reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions.
“Our aim is to partner with customers and nations in accelerating the energy transition while delivering dependable renewable energy solutions from development to long-term asset management,” he said.
Chief Executive Officer Ajay Kapur said renewable energy development is expected to become a key growth driver for the company, helping reduce project timelines and improve execution readiness across large-scale projects.
Suzlon also introduced a new brand promise, “Good Energy That Works,” reflecting its focus on delivering dependable, accessible, affordable, integrated, and intelligent renewable energy solutions.
The announcement marks one of the company’s most significant strategic shifts in recent years as it seeks to strengthen its position in India’s expanding renewable energy sector while pursuing larger opportunities in global clean energy markets.
