Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday reiterated the government’s commitment to completely eradicating terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir during a high-level security review meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday. Amit Shah highlighted that the sustained efforts of the Narendra Modi government have weakened the terrorism ecosystem in the region. He directed all security agencies to intensify operations with the goal of “zero infiltration,” urging a more ruthless approach in combating terrorism. Shah emphasized the need to uproot terrorist presence, calling for enhanced vigilance and coordination among security forces. The meeting, attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, Intelligence Bureau Director, and senior police officials from Jammu and Kashmir, focused on strengthening security measures. Shah also pointed out the link between narcotics and terrorism, stressing the need for prompt action to cut off terror funding from the drug trade. He recommended new appointments in the Forensic Science Laboratory to facilitate the timely implementation of criminal laws.
The Home Minister praised the security agencies for their efforts, noting significant improvements in the region’s security situation under the Modi government’s “zero tolerance” policy against terrorism.
