Shimla, September 11
The monsoon has once again become active in Himachal Pradesh, with the Meteorological Centre in Shimla issuing a yellow alert for heavy rainfall between September 13 and September 15. According to scientist Shobhit Katiyar, districts including Kangra, Una, Sirmaur, Bilaspur and Hamirpur are expected to receive heavy showers during this period. Other parts of the state may experience light rainfall accompanied by thunder.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely to continue in some districts till September 12. Officials also said a slight dip in temperatures is expected across the state. The alert has prompted authorities to monitor vulnerable areas closely, as the region has already witnessed widespread damage in recent weeks due to landslides and flash floods.
