Shimla, June 16
Shimla Police have arrested two alleged shooters in connection with the murder of private school operator Manisha Mittal in Bhattakufar, solving the case within 40 hours of the incident, officials said.
The accused, both residents of Haryana, were arrested in Rohtak. Police also recovered the pistol allegedly used in the crime from their possession.
Confirming the arrests, ASP Headquarters Abhishek said investigations were ongoing to determine who hired the shooters to carry out the murder.
According to the police investigation, the accused travelled from Haryana to Shimla in a Swift car bearing a fake Rohru registration number in an attempt to conceal their identity. After executing the murder, both suspects fled the scene.
Police officials said the accused are being brought from Haryana to Shimla and will be produced before a court, where police remand will be sought for further interrogation.
“Detailed questioning will reveal who hired the shooters for the murder,” ASP Abhishek said.
He added that the case was being investigated from all possible angles and further details would emerge during the course of the inquiry.
