Patiala, June 20
A young migrant worker was allegedly killed in a late-night attack in Patiala following a dispute between workers at a well-known sweet shop, according to information provided by the victim’s colleagues.
The deceased has been identified as Mayank, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. According to his co-workers, several youths allegedly attacked him late at night, resulting in his death.
The victim’s colleagues claimed that the accused youth also worked at the same shop and is reportedly from Nepal. They said that around 10 youths were involved in the attack, during which some others also suffered minor injuries.
The colleagues further stated that the accused was caught during the night and handed over to the police.
Police are currently investigating the matter. No official statement has been released by the police so far regarding the case.
A statement was also given by Arshpal Singh, a colleague of the deceased Mayank.
