Chandigarh, July 3
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday announced that Ludhiana West MLA Sanjeev Arora has been inducted into the state Cabinet and entrusted with key portfolios, including Industry and Commerce, Investment Promotion, and NRI Affairs.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Punjab Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh, where Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath of office to Arora. The induction marks a significant reshuffle within the Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party government.
Congratulating the newly appointed minister, CM Mann expressed confidence in Arora’s ability to meet public expectations. “I am hopeful that Sanjeev Arora will work with complete honesty and impartiality for the welfare of three crore Punjabis and the development of the state,” he said in a post on social media.
Arora replaces former ministers in the departments now assigned to him. His appointment is seen as part of the government’s effort to strengthen its focus on industrial growth and investment outreach, particularly among the Punjabi diaspora.
