Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged people across the country to participate in the Run for Unity on 31 October to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel. The event, held annually as part of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, celebrates the spirit of unity and national integration that Sardar Patel championed. Responding to a post by Ekta Diwas Bharat on X, Modi wrote: “Join the Run for Unity on October 31 and celebrate the spirit of togetherness! Let’s honour Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India.”
The Run for Unity is held in several cities across India, bringing together people from all walks of life to remember Patel’s contribution to the country’s integration after independence.
