Kabir Chhillar has secured All India Rank 1 in JEE Main 2026 with a perfect score of 300, emphasising that the quality of study matters more than long hours of preparation.

A native of Gurugram, Chhillar attributed his success to focused learning, consistent revision, and strong conceptual clarity rather than the commonly perceived routine of studying for 15 hours a day. He said that during self study, he always prioritised deep understanding of concepts over rote learning.

Chhillar highlighted the importance of regular mock tests followed by detailed self analysis. He noted that identifying weaknesses after each test and working specifically on those areas helped improve both accuracy and time management.

He also maintained a structured approach by breaking his preparation into smaller, achievable targets and making concise notes for revision. Alongside academics, he ensured mental balance by spending time with friends.

Chhillar now aims to pursue a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay and later pursue higher studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The results of JEE Main 2026 Session 2 were declared by the National Testing Agency. The exam serves as a gateway for admission to undergraduate programmes in engineering, architecture, and planning across India.

Chhillar is among several top rankers from Allen Career Institute, which claimed multiple positions in the top ranks. According to the institute, a significant number of its students featured among the top performers this year.

Over 15.3 lakh candidates appeared for JEE Main 2026 across both sessions, with 26 students achieving a 100th percentile score.

Chhillar’s achievement underscores the growing emphasis on smart preparation strategies over exhaustive study hours in competitive examinations.
