Chandigarh, October 17
Mohammad Mustafa, former Punjab DGP, and his wife Razia Sultana, a former state minister, are mourning the death of their only son Aqil Akhtar, who died under mysterious circumstances in Panchkula on Thursday night.
Aqil was found unresponsive at his residence in the MDC area. He was rushed to Civil Hospital Panchkula around 9:28 pm, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, according to hospital officials.
Initial reports suggest a possible drug overdose, though the exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem. The autopsy was carried out at Sector-6 Hospital, and the body was later handed over to the family.
Police at Mansa Devi Complex Police Station have been informed, and an investigation is under way. Aqil lived in MDC Sector-4, Panchkula.
