Dharamshala, May 30
Celebrating 90 Years of Compassion, a newly released title honouring Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, was unveiled in Dharamshala by Mumbai-based author Dr. Dinesh Shahra. The volume is Shahra’s second work centered on the revered Buddhist figure and his enduring message of humanity.
As part of the launch, Shahra met the Dalai Lama in McLeod Ganj and presented him with the publication while seeking his blessings. Speaking on the occasion, the author described the Nobel Peace Prize laureate as an extraordinary spiritual guide whose lifelong efforts have promoted harmony, empathy, and inner well-being worldwide.
Highlighting the project’s purpose, Shahra said the work seeks to connect younger generations with timeless principles that can help them navigate modern-day pressures. He noted that values such as kindness, understanding, and selflessness remain essential for building a balanced and fulfilling life.
Reflecting on the significance of the Tibetan leader’s influence, Shahra remarked that a meeting with the Dalai Lama brings a sense of positivity, inspiration and tranquillity. He added that his earlier publication on the spiritual icon received wide recognition and continues to attract readers interested in personal growth and ethical living.
The latest release aims to further extend the Dalai Lama’s message of compassion and encourage readers to adopt a more thoughtful, purposeful approach to life.
