Mandeep Garg, a practising radiologist in real life, enacts the character of a doctor in the Punjabi thriller as well

Chandigarh: Punjabi suspense thriller The Last Treatment premiered at the PU Convention Centre in Sector 25, Chandigarh, on Friday ahead of its release on Chaupal OTT, with the film combining a mystery-driven plot with an emotional family narrative.

Directed by Arun Sharma, written by Gurpreet Singh Guri and produced by Kostea Entertainment, the film follows a suspenseful storyline involving unexpected turns while exploring the lengths a person can go to protect and support loved ones.

The premiere was attended by cast members including Mandeep Garg, Hobby Dhaliwal, Raj Dhaliwal, Abbhimanue Kamboj, Akshita Bhanot, Baldev Raj (Patwari) and Raj Veer Raaj.

Mandeep Garg, who plays a doctor in the film and is a radiologist practising in Chandigarh, said he was pleased to be part of the project. He also urged audiences to watch the film and understand its underlying message.

Speaking to The North News, Renu, who was part of the audience at the premiere praised the film and said she particularly appreciated Garg’s performance. She said the film draws attention to the need to take a stand against social evils.

Another member from the audience, Sidhant, said he liked the film and appealed to the viewers to support Punjabi cinema and encourage new actors and filmmakers entering the industry after putting in years of hard work. He also thanked Chaupal for providing a sound platform to newcomers to prove their talent and Sharma for directing a good, entertaining suspense thriller.

The film’s suspense narrative is built around family relationships and the sacrifices people make for those close to them.
