Panchkula, May 2
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday expelled several party workers in Panchkula for alleged indiscipline and anti party activities during the ongoing municipal corporation elections.
The district president said that the party will not tolerate any activity against its official candidates. He added that workers found involved in such actions have been removed from the organization.
According to the party, Vinu Rao from Ward 3, Omwati Punia and Sukhbir Punia from Ward 12, and Bhanu Pratap and Jasveer Bidlan Jassi from Ward 7 have been expelled from the BJP.
The district leadership said that some workers were found supporting candidates against the party’s official nominees, while others entered the election fray as independent candidates, thereby violating party discipline.
Taking serious note of the developments, the party leadership decided to expel them from the primary membership of the BJP with immediate effect.
