The VADA Club of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA-50), Chandigarh, organised a drug awareness programme at Government High School, Sector 50, on Wednesday to educate Class X students about substance abuse and the importance of a drug-free lifestyle.
Five student volunteers delivered a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the harmful effects of drug use, the influence of peer pressure and the need to make informed choices. An interactive session was also held to address students’ questions and encourage discussion on the issue.
The programme was organised under the guidance of college principal Dr Sangam Kapoor as part of the institution’s community outreach efforts.
Dr Sandeep, convenor of the VADA Club, stressed the importance of educating young people about the risks associated with drug abuse. He encouraged students to resist peer pressure, make responsible decisions, and contribute towards building a healthy, drug-free society.
The initiative reflected the college’s focus on social responsibility and community welfare through student-led awareness activities.
