Mumbai, July 5

Salman Khan Films on Saturday dismissed reports claiming that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace has been delayed due to certification issues, clarifying that the film has not yet been submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification. The production house termed the reports false and urged media organizations to refrain from circulating unverified information. In an official statement, Salman Khan Films said reports suggesting that the film’s certification had been put on hold were completely baseless.
The production banner clarified that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace has not yet been submitted to the CBFC, making any reports of certification-related delays inaccurate. It also appealed to media organizations and individuals to avoid sharing unverified information and said all official updates regarding the film would be released only through Salman Khan Films’ official channels. The clarification came after reports earlier this week claimed that the film was likely to miss its expected August release because it was reportedly awaiting clearance from the censor board.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film stars Salman Khan as Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, who laid down his life along with 19 soldiers of the 16 Bihar Regiment during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops.
Originally announced as Battle of Galwan, the film was scheduled for a theatrical release on April 17 before being renamed Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. The makers are yet to announce a fresh release date.
The film also stars Chitrangada Singh in a key role. With the production house rejecting speculation over certification issues, the makers have reiterated that any future announcements regarding the film, including its release date, will be made through official channels.
