Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday officially inaugurated the Summer Festival Volleyball Tournament in Sanjauli, utilizing the traditional platform to drive a major anti-drug campaign across the state. Highlighting the evolution of the annual cultural event, the Chief Minister announced that a “Chitta-Free” sports initiative has been seamlessly integrated into this year’s festival. The newly introduced volleyball championship features competitive teams representing all 12 districts of the hill state, aiming to spread a strong message of drug eradication and healthy living among the youth.

Concurrently, addressing the brewing controversy regarding the recent arrests of Hindu Sangharsh Samiti leaders over the Sanjauli dispute, Chief Minister Sukhu delivered a firm warning against unlawful disruptions. He explicitly asserted that no individual or organization would be permitted to take the law into their own hands in Himachal Pradesh, reinforcing that strict legal action remains inevitable for anyone attempting to disturb communal peace or public order.

The Chief Minister emphasized that complex societal and administrative issues can be resolved effectively through democratic dialogue rather than street agitation. He reiterated that his office remains continuously accessible to hear public grievances and address genuine citizen concerns. However, Sukhu strongly condemned tactics such as chakka jams and highway blockades, noting that halting public transport and restricting movement inflict severe hardships on all sections of society, concluding that the state government will never tolerate such disruptive measures.
