President Droupadi Murmu visits Army Training Command in Shimla

Droupadi Murmu on Friday visited the Headquarters of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) in Shimla, where she was briefed on the command’s role in training and capacity-building for the Indian Army. She was received by Kavinder Gupta and Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ARTRAC.

During the visit, the President was apprised of ARTRAC’s evolution and its contribution to enhancing operational efficiency through advanced training modules. Officials highlighted key initiatives, including drone training, the adoption of emerging technologies, red teaming, and efforts to digitize and automate within the Army.

The President noted ARTRAC’s role in shaping modern warfare strategies, developing resources, and strengthening engagements with friendly foreign countries and sister services. She said the command plays a crucial role in advancing professionalism and preparedness in the Indian Army.

Murmu also met with senior officials to strengthen training frameworks and further improve national security. She lauded the efforts of ARTRAC personnel and defense civilians, urging them to continue working with dedication to enhance operational readiness.

Earlier, the President concluded her five day visit to Himachal Pradesh and was given a ceremonial send off at Annandale Helipad in Shimla in the presence of the Governor, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and other senior officials.

The visit underscored the government’s focus on strengthening military training and preparedness as part of broader national security objectives.
