Forest Hill Resort hosts motorsport event on challenging trails in Shiwalik landscape

As many as 100 motorsport enthusiasts took part in an off-roading event at Forest Hill Resort (FHR) near Chandigarh, driving through challenging trails and natural obstacles in the Shiwalik landscape.

The event showcased the scope for off-roading and outdoor recreation in the region, according to the resort.

FHR founder Devinder Sandhu said the property offered visitors activities beyond a conventional stay.

“Forest Hill is a nature retreat as well as an adventure destination where guests can experience the outdoors through activities such as off-roading, trekking, horse riding, boating, fishing and bird watching. Experiences such as Mowgli Walk, nature walks and camping further allow visitors to connect with the natural surroundings,” he added.

Participants drove across rough terrain and natural obstacles along specially created trails during the event. Sandhu said such activities could encourage greater participation in outdoor recreation while promoting responsible adventure experiences.

“At the FHR, trained experts from professional organisations are engaged to conduct adventure activities in a safe and organised manner. Participants are provided the necessary guidance and safety equipment. Children and youngsters above 15 can participate in adventure activities, while separate safe entertainment options are available for younger children,” he added.

Sandhu said the FHR was working towards developing the property as an eco-sanctuary offering nature, adventure and leisure activities.

“The idea is to bring adventure, nature and leisure together at one destination, allowing people to take a break from their routine without having to travel far from Chandigarh,” he added.

He further said the development of nature and adventure destinations around Chandigarh could encourage longer visitor stays and generate demand for transport, hospitality, food and other tourism-related services.
