Gurugram, April 30

A former NSG commando on parole was shot dead in Kasan village under Manesar police station limits on Thursday morning, with police suspecting a revenge motive linked to a 2018 murder case. The victim, Sundar Fauji, 55, was attacked during a morning walk near a local market around 8.30 am.

Police said Fauji was intercepted by Rohan, son of former sarpanch Bahadur Chauhan, along with an accomplice. The assailants allegedly opened fire and fled the spot. Fauji was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Eyewitnesses reported multiple gunshots, while officials said the attack lasted only a few seconds. A video of the incident has also surfaced. Investigators believe the killing was carried out to avenge Chauhan’s murder, in which Fauji was an accused.

Station House Officer Sunil Kumar said one of the accused has been identified as Rohan and confirmed that both suspects are absconding. Police teams have been deployed to trace and arrest them. The incident has raised concerns over law and order in the area, with further investigation underway.
