Punjab, Haryana witness rise in temperatures amid hot weather conditions

Chandigarh, April 23

Hot weather conditions prevailed across Punjab and Haryana on Thursday, with maximum temperatures staying 3 to 4 degrees above seasonal averages in most places, according to the local meteorological office.

Bathinda in Punjab recorded the state’s highest temperature at 44 degrees Celsius amid intense daytime heat. Faridkot registered 42 degrees Celsius, while Patiala recorded 41.6 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana saw a maximum temperature of 40.6 degrees Celsius, and Amritsar recorded 40.1 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Rohtak was the hottest location with a maximum temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius. Sirsa followed closely at 43 degrees Celsius, while Narnaul recorded 42.7 degrees Celsius and Hisar 42.1 degrees Celsius. Karnal registered 41.4 degrees Celsius, Ambala 40.8 degrees Celsius, and Gurugram 40.3 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh, the common capital of both states, recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.

The overall weather pattern reflected widespread heat across the region, with most districts reporting significantly above-normal daytime temperatures.
