The United States and Iran are considering a second round of in-person talks to try to end their six-week conflict before a ceasefire expires next week, according to officials familiar with the discussions.
Sources said negotiations are ongoing, though one diplomat from a mediating country indicated both sides have agreed in principle to meet again. Sources revealed that the possible venues under discussion include Islamabad and Geneva, though no final decision has been made. Talks could take place as early as Thursday. The White House has not commented publicly. Meanwhile, Donald Trump said the US had been approached by Iran, adding that Tehran “wants to work a deal.”
