Actor Rakesh Bedi, who plays a powerful Pakistani politician with a secret in “Dhurandhar: The Revenge”, on Monday urged fans of the Aditya Dhar-directed spy thriller to not share spoilers of the film.

The film, starring Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy imbedded in the gang world of Karachi’s Lyari town, released on March 19 and is on its way to becoming one of the biggest blockbusters in Hindi cinema. The movie has made a record Rs 761 crore at the box office during its extended weekend, the highest for a Hindi movie and only second to “Pushpa 2”.

Bedi has received a lot of praise for his portrayal of Jameel Jamali, a cunning politician and also the father-in-law of Hamza, in the movie that also features Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt.

“I am proud to be a part of this film ‘Dhurandhar’ and it has not only broken, not only shattered but devastated all kinds of records at the box office and also penetrated deep into the hearts of the people of India and around the world…It’s not only a commercial hit, it also made an impact on Indian masses, Indian people, who have seen the film,” Bedi said in a video posted on Instagram.

“But I have one request to make that please don’t shoot the scenes of the film while you are seeing it and post on social media. Because they are spoilers. And specially don’t talk about or shoot the last scene, the climax of the film because it’s not right. That is being a spoilsport,” he said.

Set in Lyari town of Karachi, an area known for its history of gang wars and violent turf battles, “Dhurandhar” revolved around covert intelligence operations against the backdrop of geopolitical and terror events like the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament Attack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

The sequel charts the rise of Singh’s character Hamza Ali Mazari in the Karachi underworld while also delving into his origins as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, tracing the journey of the young man who eventually transforms into the covert operative.

Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the film released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
