Chandigarh, October 14
A fresh twist has emerged in the case surrounding the death of late ADGP Y Puran Kumar, , as another officer probing allegations against him allegedly died by suicide in Rohtak on Tuesday. The deceased, ASI Sandeep Kumar, was posted at the Cyber Cell in Rohtak. Police said he shot himself with his service weapon. Before taking the extreme step, Kumar left behind a three-page note and a video message accusing Y Puran Kumar of corruption and misuse of power.

In his note, ADGP Puran Kumar alleged that the senior officer had “hijacked the system using caste politics” and that he feared being falsely implicated. He claimed to have “substantial evidence” against the officer and appealed for a fair probe, demanding that no one from the “corrupt family” be spared. The incident comes just days after ADGP Kumar died by suicide on October 7, naming several senior IAS and IPS officers and alleging harassment.

Senior police officials said a formal inquiry has been launched. The suicide note and video message left by ASI Kumar will be crucial in the ongoing investigation. The North News have not yet received a response from ADGP Puran Kumar’s family regarding Sandeep Kumar’s suicide. Their reaction will be published as soon as it is available.
