Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the deaths caused by a tragic mishap in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister said he was “saddened by the loss of lives” and extended condolences to the bereaved families. He also wished a swift recovery for those injured in the incident.
Modi announced that an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be provided to the next of kin of those who lost their lives. Those injured will receive ₹50,000 each. “My thoughts are with the affected people and their families during this difficult time,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a post on X.
Officials said rescue operations were underway, and local authorities had been directed to provide all possible assistance to the victims and their families.
