Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Saturday inaugurated the National Cooperative Conference in Shimla, organised by the Himachal Pradesh Cooperative Bank. The two-day event, described by Agnihotri as the “Mahakumbh of the cooperative sector,” will also be attended on Sunday by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Union Minister of State for Cooperation Krishna Pal Gurjar.
Agnihotri highlighted Himachal’s historic role in the cooperative movement, noting that the state was among the first to start non-cooperative societies as early as 1892. “This programme will give fresh energy to the cooperative sector of Himachal Pradesh,” he said, extending congratulations to the state’s cooperative bank for hosting the event.
The conference has drawn key figures from across the cooperative and corporate sectors, with sessions focused on deliberations between cooperative societies.
