In a major intelligence-led operation conducted with central agencies, Amritsar Rural Police apprehended Malkeet Singh, a resident of Pandori, Amritsar, recovering a hand grenade, a .30 bore pistol (Px5), and ten live rounds. Preliminary investigations indicate Malkeet has direct links with UK-based gangster Dharma Sandhu, who is closely associated with Harwinder Rinda, a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative reportedly based in Pakistan and backed by the ISI. Further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the entire network, said DGP Punjab, Gaurav Yadav.
