The Punjab Police on Thursday successfully foiled a major terror plot orchestrated by Pak-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative Harwinder Singh Rinda and terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa, both backed by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Sharing deatils, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav said that the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), acting on credible human intelligence, along with Tarn Taran Police, launched a search operation and recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Tarn Taran district. “The IED was recovered before it could be delivered to Rinda’s associates. It was safely transported to a secure location for controlled detonation,” he stated.

He further informed that the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was immediately deployed, and the IED was successfully neutralized through joint efforts. An FIR under the Explosives Act has been registered at Police Station Sarhali, Tarn Taran, he added. Reaffirming the force’s commitment, DGP Yadav said, “Punjab Police remains firmly committed to dismantling terror networks and safeguarding the lives of citizens.”
