Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday hailed the BJP’s performance in the municipal elections and launched a sharp attack on the Congress during a programme attended by newly elected mayors and councillors from Panchkula, Ambala, and Sonipat. Addressing party workers and leaders, Saini said the BJP continues to work under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while accusing the Congress of misleading people through “false narratives.”
Referring to the Lok Sabha elections, Saini alleged that the Congress had claimed the Constitution would be abolished if the BJP returned to power. He also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over remarks made during the Haryana campaign. The Chief Minister thanked the people of Haryana for supporting the BJP in the civic body elections and said the results reflected growing public confidence in the party.
Speaking on fuel conservation, Saini referred to Prime Minister Modi’s appeal during the Middle East crisis, urging citizens to save petrol and diesel. He said the government would encourage ministers to use bicycles to reduce fuel consumption.
Saini further claimed that people in Punjab were being deprived of the benefits of Central government policies and asserted that the BJP would strengthen its presence in the state in the coming years.Commenting on the BJP’s victory in Sampla, considered a political stronghold of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Saini said the public’s trust in the Congress had weakened significantly.
