Punjab’s Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, has ordered heightened security measures across the state to ensure public safety during the upcoming festive season. Chairing a law and order review meeting in Amritsar on Monday, Yadav instructed field units to intensify visible policing, strengthen intelligence-sharing and maintain seamless coordination between forces. He stressed that the Punjab Police remained committed to “zero tolerance” towards crime and terrorism, with a focus on protecting peace and harmony.
Senior officers from the Commissionerate Police Amritsar, Border Range, Amritsar Rural Police, Batala, Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Tarn Taran attended the meeting, alongside officials from specialised units including the Anti-Gangster Task Force and Counter-Intelligence.
