PM Modi praises Lovepreet Singh for CWG silver medal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated athletes Lovepreet Singh and Seema after they won medals at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Lovepreet Singh claimed the silver medal in the men’s +110kg weightlifting event and set  new Commonwealth Games record in the snatch discipline. In a post on X, Modi praised his “exceptional performance” and described his dedication and determination as “truly admirable”, wishing him success in his future competitions.
Seema won the bronze medal in the women’s discus throw with a best effort of 58.65 metres. The prime minister said her achievement had made India proud and would inspire young people across the country. He also extended his best wishes for her future endeavours.
The congratulatory messages were shared by Modi on X following the athletes’ medal-winning performances at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
