Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted with chants of “Bharat Mata ki jai” and “Vande Mataram” as he arrived at his hotel in Tianjin, China, on Saturday ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
Members of the Indian diaspora gathered outside the venue to welcome him, waving flags and raising slogans in a show of support.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Prime Minister confirmed his arrival and said he looked forward to the deliberations at the summit and meetings with world leaders. “Landed in Tianjin, China. Looking forward to deliberations at the SCO Summit and meeting various world leaders,” Modi wrote.
