Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a bus accident in Udhampur. The Prime Minister offered condolences to families who lost loved ones and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident. In a message shared by the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister also announced financial assistance for those affected. An ex gratia payment of ₹2 lakh will be given to the next of kin of each person who died, while those injured will receive ₹50,000 from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
