PM Modi:Anti paper leak Bill will crack down on paper leak networks

New Delhi, July 30

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said both Houses of Parliament had passed a stringent anti-paper leak bill as part of the government’s efforts to tackle a menace that he said had threatened the future of the country’s children.

In a video message released on Thursday, Modi said the legislation was designed to crack down on organised groups involved in leaking examination papers and manipulating recruitment and entrance tests.

He said such networks had “played with the future of the country’s children” and warned that those responsible would not be spared under the new legal framework.

“As promised, both Houses of Parliament discussed the bill in detail and have now passed it with strict provisions,” the Prime Minister said.

Modi said the government viewed the legislation as an important milestone in strengthening the country’s examination system, but stressed that the law alone would not solve the problem.

He said the government would continue introducing reforms to prevent paper leaks and ensure that students could compete in examinations fairly.

“The work will continue. We will not allow such situations to persist. Let us all work together to fulfil the dream of a developed India,” he said.

The prime minister said the government had already begun implementing a series of measures to improve the examination process, including setting up a task force, creating a fast-track mechanism and consulting state governments on further reforms.

He acknowledged that paper leaks had affected both state and central government examinations for many years, making it a nationwide challenge rather than one confined to a single administration.

Modi said greater use of technology would be essential to improve the integrity of examinations and safeguard students’ futures. He added that strengthening education systems across both the Centre and the states was necessary to prevent such incidents from recurring.
