Noida, April 23
A young couple living in a rented accommodation in Greater Noida was found dead under suspicious circumstances, with the man found hanging and the woman lying on the floor, police said on Thursday. The incident came to light on Wednesday night in an area under the Knowledge Park police station limits. The deceased have been identified as Guddu Paswan alias Golu, 27, and Jyoti, 24, both residents of Deoria district in Uttar Pradesh.
According to police, the two were in a live-in relationship and had been staying together in the rented room. The man was found hanging from a ceiling fan, while the woman was found lying on the floor. Officials said the woman was a hospital housekeeping staff member, while the man was unemployed.
Police conducted an inspection at the spot and initiated inquest proceedings. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Family members of the deceased have reached the location, officials said. Police added that all aspects of the case are being examined.
Authorities said further action will be taken based on the post-mortem findings as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths continues.
