Punjabi cinema’s upcoming romantic drama Ishqnama is generating significant buzz ahead of its July 24 theatrical release, marking the first on-screen collaboration between actor Jayy Randhawa and actress Shehnaaz Gill.
The film’s trailer was unveiled at a launch event at the Radisson Hotel in Chandigarh, drawing enthusiastic responses from fans and sparking excitement across social media platforms.
Offering a mix of romance, action and emotional drama, Ishqnama is inspired by true love and real-life incidents, according to the film’s cast and makers. Addressing the media during the trailer launch, Jayy Randhawa, Shehnaaz Gill, Saurabh Sachdeva, Anjum Batra, Nirmal Nimma, Dheeraj Rattan and director Arvinder Singh Khaira shared insights into the project.
In the film, Jayy Randhawa plays Nimma, while Shehnaaz Gill essays Nasima.
The makers said Randhawa underwent an extensive physical transformation and rigorous training to prepare for his role. Despite sustaining injuries while filming a high-risk action sequence, the actor continued shooting with dedication to complete the project.
With its fresh lead pairing and a blend of romance, action, and emotion, Ishqnama is expected to be one of the notable Punjabi film releases this month.
